General Instructions of Virus Prevention
The spread of a virus or worm generally is via e-mail, floppy disks and USB flash disks. The following guidelines are some things we should do to prevent the outbreak of the virus in our computer.
E-mail attachments do not open automatically. If you use Outlook Express, Outlook, Eudora, Netscape, etc. e-mail program set so that the attachment does not open automatically. Only open e-mail attachments from senders you know. Before opening an attachment, scan it first. This also applies to web-mail users like yahoo, hotmail, etc..Do not open e-mail attachments that you suspect contains a virus even though the email comes from people you know. Check first with the sender before you open it. Do not open attachments with the extensions VBS, SHS or PIF. The extension is generally used by viruses and worms. Do not open attachments with double extensions, such as name_file.BMP.EXE or name_file.TXT.VBS. When you receive an e-mail advertisements, do not open attachments or opening / follow their web link included. Do not open attachments with sexual filenames.
